BRASS AND COPPER POLISHING AND RESTORATION

We provide an economical repair and polishing service for all brass items. Common items we see through the workshop include brass jardinieres, brass trays and table tops, candelabras and other similar decorative items. We have extensive experience in polishing scientific instruments such as antique telescopes, theodolites and microscopes, and the knowledge as to how they should be restored.

We have a complete workshop to undertake all repairs, and on completion of restoration and polishing we are able to protect the finish with a clear coating.

STERLING SILVER MANUFACTURE, REPAIR AND RESTORATION

We regularly manufacture sterling silver items such as Chalices for Churches, in either our own traditional designs or to customer specification.

We also manufacture a range of Sterling Silver Christening Cups and Napkin Rings to order. We use the skills developed through our manufacturing experience to restore everything from Sterling Silver Cutlery to Georgian Silver Teapots. We can repair everything from small leaks and dents to major rebuilding as the result of damage.

BRASS BED RESTORATION AND SALES

We provide a complete brass bed restoration service, including all repairs and powder coating. We are able to convert most antique double beds to queen size in a manner sympathetic to their original design. We have been buying, selling and restoring beds for over 50 years, and have accumulated a huge inventory of spare parts. For those who want to undertake bed restoration themselves we are able to provide those missing pieces or undertake part of the restoration for you. We also normally keep a large stock of beds which are available for sale either restored or “as is”.

CHANDELIER RESTORATIONS

We provide a complete chandelier restoration service including all repairs. We specialise in conversion of European and American Chandeliers, Wall Lights and Lamps to Australian Standards, and take great pride in our lighting restoration.

We can also provide a cleaning service for all chandeliers as well as replacement crystals and other parts.

BRONZE AND SPELTER RESTORATION

We can repair broken bronzes and spelter figurines and other items, including the provision of replacement pieces. On completion of the repairs we are able to accurately reproduce the correct patina on the repaired area. For cold painted bronzes we provide a refinishing service which matches the repaired area to the rest of the piece.

This large bronzed figure is a stair newel light. In addition to numerous splits and breaks her right foot had no toes nor was there a sandal. Fortunately one of David’s sons was the right size to model for us to carve a new foot in brass.

Once it was attached we matched the patina to the rest of the bronze. Whilst this lady stood around 1.5 metres high to the top of her head the principles are the same as when we work on much smaller bronzes such as those that often accompanied antique clocks.

Whether they are bronze or spelter we can match the finish to the original.

TROPHY REPAIR

We are able to undertake most trophy repairs including handle repair, dent removal, polishing and silver plating.

Timber bases and shields can be refurbished and we are able to provide sterling silver miniature shields for engraving. We are also able to provide a range of high quality silver plated or sterling silver trophies made to order.
